DTU has the iniative called "Blue Dot", which is a portfolio of student-driven undertakings that cross boundaries between study programmes, semesters, and departments. These projects are larger than the individual study plan, the individual semester, but benefits the society. Your engineering skills come into play when you participate in a Blue Dot project. You go from brainstorming to implementation and testing. You can turn your theoretical knowledge into practical application and develop both your technical and personal skills.

The Technology Pact aims to strengthen Danes' STEM skills. The purpose of the pact is for more people to take an interest in STEM, train in STEM and use STEM in jobs.

With the Technology Pact, the government, the business community, educational institutions, organizations and other players join hands to implement projects and activities to strengthen the workforce's technical and digital skills and track more young people into STEM education.

Among other things, the Technology Pact has as its goal that 20 per cent more must complete STEM education at both skilled and advanced level. This corresponds to approx. 10,000 more people with education in the STEM field.

In higher education, it comes on top of the increase that is already underway. And in vocational education, the declining trend in the number of graduates must be turned into an increase.

Copenhagen Suborbitals is the world’s only manned, amateur space program. Since 2011, we’ve built and flown 4 homebuilt rockets and space capsules from our launch platform in the Baltic Sea, and some day one of us will fly into space. It’s all crowdfunded and nonprofit, and has only come this far because people all over the world donate money that pay the materials, tools and rent.

Our goal is simple: To fly an amateur astronaut into space and safely back. We’re an association of unpaid, volunteering members and we build our rockets in a workshop in Copenhagen, Denmark. That requires many different skills, so we’re a very diverse group, from blacksmiths to rocket scientist. We all do this in our spare time, working regular day jobs on the side. The budgets are microscopic compared to professional space programs, so our guiding principle is to build space craft as simple and cheap as possible.

The Danish Society for Space Research was founded on the 20th of September 1949, and is today a community for space activities in Denmark and for participation in international cooperation, e.g. through membership of the International Astronautical Federation, IAF, www.iafastro.org. The society is open to new members and works to spread knowledge of space travel and space research as well as to promote and strengthen international relations and opportunities for Danish students, institutions and companies. The company operates the website rumfart.dk with information on space-related topics and news within all disciplines of space research.
